Hi Chris,
The other side of this coin, which you and I discussed a year or more
ago, is the fact when Scripps shows are broadcast overseas, there IS a
performing right attached to the music [there would have been
mechanicals also].......... you wont be paid, but they will !!
Compound this with the broadcast mechanical right[s] [you do know about
these correct.... for your Library efforts.?] which the publishers
'take' and it isn't too difficult to see why companies love it when
composers work for cash, or for hire, or for no rights......... Vic is
correct.... it's cold outside for us if we are not careful, but for
them the cash cow keeps the warm milk $flowing.
