I'm a UK MU member and ex Local 47, living in LA.

For years the 'unwritten' law was simply this.

X number of US pop stars go to the UK to tour, equal number of UK pop 
stars got to the USA to tour.
It is likely a similar situation arises with composers  X number go 
each way each year.

Many UK artists record in the USA, especially LA.
