[Fmpro] Jezz, can I ask a question about something other than ASCAP or Union

I agree with Chris here, but i have to admit that the chain links in
production have become weaker and weaker i.e. These days it is not
rare to receive a 2 hour film without even a burn-in. They claim the
render time is too long and they loose money on burn-ins wich is
probably true but...

So some productions shovel their troubles into the composers yard.
You end up Ripping the DVD and reconverting it into something
workable. For some 2 hour films you may end up spending a day getting
rid of these steps just to be able to sart working. And then 3 days
later they send you a new version of the film where they cut 1 or 2
frames out here there and everywhere. With no burn-in you can't even
ask them to give a list of the edits where you could check the
changes. So you start the rip/convert process all over and you work
hours editing the music you skillfully wrote to hit some cues that
are either not there anymore or 6 frames later.

End of rant.

Claude
