Hi Doug -

What exactly are the requirements at ASCAP to be a "writer" for these
purposes? And it's the music editor that "submits a document" in these
cases, and music editors aren't generally members of ASCAP, so this wording
makes even less sense.

We both know about the ASCAP animation company in question that demands a
percentage of the writers' royalties as a condition of employment.

What is ASCAP going to do about it, if anything?

Best,

Mark N.
