Hey Jim,
Nobody has a problem with co-authoring. We just don't like someone breaking
their agreement with ASCAP by listing themselves as a co-author when they
really didn't help write that cue.

Don't be too hard on co-authoring. Rogers Hammerstein, Lennon
McCartney, Bacharach David et.al..
Co-composers can work together to their mutual satisfaction.
Creatively, Billy Hale and Jim Chase have a perfect symbiotic
relationship, with Billy as the brilliant and willing host. On those
occasions when I nail a cue, Bill proofs the orchestration. When we
collaborate on a composition, the Billy 50% Jim 50% split works just
fine, as it has for three decades in live music, and since 2001 in film
music.
As hungry as we get, this arrangement will NEVER be extended to
"PRIME TIME TV SPECIAL" clients offering "$100 up-front."
rjchase,
Billy Hale Music
