Clients pay for the music based on its usage.  If the show they are putting
the music in will air overseas, they have to select that option and pay more
for the music.  This reflects the mechanical cost and is split with the
composer.  This will also inform us that we will need to ensure that proper
cue sheets are filed overseas for that show.

They will have the option (although we are considering making it a
requirement) to fill out a cue sheet online.  It would be then possible to
find the places where that sheet needs to be sent and have the 'system' send
it automatically.

If they were required to fill out the cue sheet on our system as part of
their agreement with us, this would make it very simple.

Problem is Chris,  what happens when the tv show or movie you sell to 
airs overseas?

Who will request cue sheets from ASCAP/BMI/SESAC be sent overseas..... 
they do not do it automatically !

What can happen is, if 'you' have a cue in a tv show and there are no 
cue sheets, the tv station[s] overseas will list the theme composer 
only .... guess what [for years thereafter]?

How about downloads of product which has your music.. around the world?

Not trying to catch you out here ;-)  We all need to make sure o/s cue 
sheets are sent and maintained.... question is......... How do you know 
where YOUR product has been sold?

Hence the need to obtain money from the mechanical sale/syndication of 
product.... hence another reason 'they ' wont pay us !
