Hi Pete -
Back after our move and finally have internet again...
I'm sure if a poll were taken on this list of composers asking who believes
that a minute of their music is only worth 20% of what a minute of song
performed on the same television show/film is paid, your statement would be
debunked instantly, at least as far as composers go.
What composer in their right mind would agree with such an arbitrary,
massive devaluation of their hard work? (Other than songwriters, of course!)
I get many email from people who support PRO reform, but sadly, many have
serious career concerns about coming forward and becoming part of the
"fight" - it's sad when composers are actually so afraid of their own PRO
that they hire and pay that they have to remain silent in the face of
obvious and blatant injustices.
