That is a really good idea.  Wish I'd known about it three weeks ago.

It all started back in the 70s when the agencies started the 
"competitive demo " ( i.e. cattle call ) method of
selecting the jingle house they wanted to do the job. In the real 
world, that meant you were putting a lot of time and effort into work 
that might be dumped if the "client" didn't like it. ( Remember, this 
was way before the days of the self contained project/ sequencer based 
personal studios, and the demos used a lot of talent and studio time 
to produce. )

So: to try and regain some leverage on the gigs I DID get. I had my 
contract
( actually a detailed bid sheet/ work order listing everything that the 
job required ) rewritten to include the servicing clause above.
This work order had to signed by BOTH the agency and the client before 
the strumming and humming would commence.
