That's a very good point.   In many cases on TV, where there's an action 
sequence (all music, no dialog) a love scene (all music no dialog) or an emotional 
scene where someone is just staring/watching/waiting/crying (all music no 
dialog) -- score in those places would certainly count as featured music.

The idea that a song would get paid more $$ because it has words truly 
doesn't make sense. The singer isn't getting paid a share of that performance money, 
it's going to the writers.
