Sorry to those who have digests, but I will ultimately copy this email
to many overseas.

Folks, please tell me I'm wrong.

Where in all of the language below is the right of the creator to
receive due, accurate payment mentioned?
Where in any language that any one of us has with a PRO or a Publisher
is the 'RIGHT TO KNOW' * established?

Without accurate tracking etc.......... just how will you be paid in
the new business model[s] of the entertainment worlds electronic
transfer of data future?

In the UK the word 'allotment' is the major force when it comes time to
pay musicians their performers 'right'.
The Library music world has NEVER paid blanket license income to
composers accurately......... more to the point in all cases.......

WHAT IS THE GROSS AMOUNT AT SOURCE?

Consider your 'right to know' attach that to not knowing what the gross
amount at source is and what we have is 'rape'.

Les

* Allegedly the freedom of information act[s] do not cover such
problems.......... what a surprise !

Qtrax Continues Licensing March, Signs Sony/ATV Music Publishing

Qtrax, an ad-supported peer-to-peer, has just licensing the catalog of
Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Qtrax has not yet launched, though it has
been
steadily announcing licensing agreements with a number of important
companies, including Warner Music Group, EMI Group, The Orchard, ASCAP,
BMI,
and TVT Records. "Qtrax presents a unique and legitimate platform from
which
our songs may be distributed as broadly as possible, while at the same
time
securing potentially lucrative advertising dollars for our songwriters,"
said David Hockman, chairman and CEO of Sony/ATV. The company is part
of an
upcoming vanguard of advertising-based music services, a group that also
includes SpiralFrog. Qtrax, which is scheduled to launch early next
year, is
owned by Brilliant Technologies.
