Thanks for the thoughts and ideas, Doug. We agree on much of this.
With that in mind, I'd like to ask you the following:
1. What is your attendance record for the last 4 years?
2. In your opinion, what % of a feature performance should a minute of
underscore music be paid on TV?
3. In your opinion, what % of a feature performance should a minute of
original CPA (commercials/promo/ads) music be paid on TV?
4. Should the "automatic feature performance" rule giving all vocals,
background or not, automatic feature performance payment stay or go?
5. Should Marilyn Bergman continue to be President of ASCAP, or be replaced
by someone else?
6. Do you agree with ASCAP's policy of selectively inviting film/TV
composers to ASCAP's "Film & TV Composer Meetings" and prohibiting selected
composers from those meetings, even if there's space available? If you don't
agree, what would you do if re-elected to change this policy?
Thanks for your direct answers to these questions - it will help us know
where you stand on these important issues as we consider who to support in
the upcoming election.
Best,
Mark Northam
