It's not your location... the same thing happens in LA, NY, Seattle,
Podunk, on the Internet...wherever film music is sold.
The fact that similar power dealings have also impacted the careers of
John Williams, and other top composers may be of some small
consolation. A search of the IMDb for film composers with "score
rejected" badges will prove that you are among friends.
If this may be of some help: Command a percentage, typically 50% up front,
before you begin, that will take the edge off of the sordid artistic spats
between the Director/Producer team...unless the check doesn't clear... :-(
The up-front percentage will also give pause the D/P team -- to resolve their
differences as to the suitability of a film score -- and they will be more
likely to work *with you* as the film music composer or director for their
project. If not, you have done all that you can. NEXT!
