Mike,

You've sort of lost me now -- I don't know what you
 are talking about.

What I object to is BS. Not to mention fantasy
constructs, delusional thinking and the inability to
 recognize the obvious.

That the LA RMALA are the best in the world would
come as a big surprise to many great musicians
worldwide. There are great musicians in LA -- in a lot
of other places too. No one is invincible, irreplaceable
 or indispensable.

I have often suggested alternatives. Let's start with
no union. Maybe then the supply and demand
balance in the marketplace would start to take
shape. Maybe work would return to LA. Maybe
musicians could makes decisions for themselves about
how they want to compete in today's global
marketplace. These are alternatives to remaining on
 the plantation.

It is important to provoke thought since many people
are challenged in this capacity. Too often musicians
are like children; unaware of the historical forces that
shape their lives and seemingly incapable of thinking
for themselves or exercising critical thought.

Most people need to start by being honest with
themselves and recognize the fact that a combination
of fear and ignorance have turned them into the herd
 animals they have become.

Rick
