[Fmpro] Union crap

Let me see;

UK union is paid £100millions from 1945 -1996 by PPL for musicians
performers rights........... I and other studio guys never saw a penny,
NOT ONE PENNY.
ALL of the money went to either union funds/cars/buildings etc. or
musicians who did not do the work, but were mostly semi pro Jazz guys
or orchestral types on a salary [sound familiar?]

UK musicians still have NO POWER over the NEW 'performers right' and
payment via PPL is an allotment.. no facts, no data, don't ask.
UK union is ineffective in this area...... I wonder why !

UK union did not attempt to provide pensions or health benefits for
members [NO, health care in the UK never was free]

UK officials/staff, do get pensions etc., plus travel [1st class],
clothing, good mortgage rates etc.
[seen this in PRO land?]

When UK session organizer was told of the multitude of 'benefits' etc
via Local 47 for musicians the answer was, 'if we did the same we would
have to become involved with the musicians' ........ er what?

The bottom line....... any org is in business.
The CEO wants more staff so they can have power, the staff want
security, no one really cares about the musician or the composer....
'cos there's another bunch being spewed out of school right now and
they don't know the pitfalls..........

Someone with a peculiar 1st or last name, MVPRO, used the word
bitterness.

Rumour has it some of us older, busy UK studio musicians had about
$2-4M stolen from us [each] over the decades via lost performer right
income.
Due income which the union denied even exited.............
bitter........ no, ashamed of my fellows who wouldn't fight for it.

Sound familiar today?
