[Fmpro] $ depletion

Score composers are faced with a similar discriminatory package in the
UK where 1-1 has been the norm for years but those who are now being
paid correctly do not like it.
So instead of the ONE channel, which is shaking the ££'s out of the
trees, being regulated for nighttime airings there is a proposal to
reduce the 'value' of music on all channels at night, also cap the
amounts paid....... 24/7 !!!!

I will bet not one word would have been uttered if the music through
the night on UK TV was all song !!

The suits have figured out how to reduce payment to score............
and if anyone attends the upcoming SCL seminar, PLEASE, ask them how
your score music is to be paid for a download [especially if you gave
up your mech. rights] and how the SCL thinks downloaded music will be
tracked.

I for one would love to hear how they plan the future.
