They're also dead wrong in the case of financial programs like CNBC and
Bloomberg, whose prime audiences are daytime viewers keeping track of the
stock market. I know for a fact that CNBC's viewership drops off
drastically shortly after the stock market closes at 4PM (got a view of the
Neilsons), and their evening and weekend viewership is a fraction of their
daytime viewership. Converting this type of program to a "prime time" boost
would be rewarding shows that have very light Neilsons, and punishing the
shows that have vast international viewership during the DAY.
