You have a point there, and I think this might be a way in which the voice 
over world and composing world differ.  I'm non-union for voice, as was this 
audition, but rates don't generally tend to differ much between the two, and 
many leads pay the same for either kind of talent.  It's one of the reasons 
I've dragged my feet at joining any unions, as I don't stand to gain much 
more pay per job, and my amount of auditions and leads would go down.

That's because VO's are supervised and regulated by UNIONS!  (AFTRA & SAG)
