Hi Chris,

I'm not implying anything really.......... I observe and comment and
based on my own personal history haven't been too far off the mark
this past 45 years.

I did make one huge compounded mistake.
I thought the AACO, by offering a platform, would enable the US PRO's
to talk to composers and arrive at a more equitable distribution
formula.
I also thought composers would talk to each other.

Wrong on both counts with the composers org [SCL] making sure
composers did not talk to each other about real issues.

Did you not look at the request for songs via Bratz?
That should be the warning sign.
Did you not notice EMI have given away copy protection via iTunes?
[How will the Stones/Beatles be paid?]

No doubt some actuary will calculate Ms Gwen should generate [e.g.
only] $300m in the next 25 years.
They'll offer a good sized amount for the 'right' to use product in
future either with reduced payments or a buy out and all will be happy.

It is the newbies who will have to watch out.... what is your cue
worth $50........ $5???

BTW..... how many Movies/TV shows/ '''hit''' records do you think the
industry has in store without producing anything new for quite a while?

BTW... did anyone see the report in the EU where the new CEO of Sony/
BMG admitted the CD was all but dead? New artists should offer
product on-line [Company will then save money by not going to see
bands etc] , they will then cherry pick. Also new contracts, better
deal on 'sales', but for that the record company will want 50% OF ALL
MERCHANIDIZING, TICKETS SALES ETC

Dubai is just another part of the upcoming gouge.
