Thought you all might want to participate... especially re Library
Music CD's which sold on the open market

Just a quick announcement from your friendly list Co-Admin:

I recently created a new Yahoo Group because I regularly peruse the
music equipment ads on my local Craigslist site, and I was sick of
seeing so many posts to the local Craigslist by software pirates
brazenly selling CDs/DVDs of commercial programs and sample
libraries. They even go so far as to give their email addresses and
phone numbers.

Obviously, law enforcement is overburdened or uninterested and these
people operate with impunity. My vision for this group is that
regular people who are interested in helping stop this problem can
join this list and then post VERY simple messages to the list. Just
copy the URL to the Craigslist pirate ad and paste in both the
subject and body of the message. That's it.

I will ask that we do not reply to messages from this list in order
to minimize the burden on participants. All you have to do to help,
is join the group, and set up a mailbox to receive messages.
Occasionally, when you check your mail, if you receive a message from
the group it will contain a URL of a post by a software pirate to
Craigslist. Try to take a moment to click the URL and FLAG the post
as "prohibited. " Or... if you're perusing Craigslist for a good deal
on used music gear and come across a pirate software ad, take the
time to send a message to flagapirate@ yahoogroups. com with the URL of
the ad in the subject and body of the message.

If enough people join and then participate (even sporadically) we can
perhaps drastically reduce or eliminate software piracy on Craigslist
and the income stream to these lowlifes.

Here's the URL to join the list for those who would like to participate:

Thanks!
