Hi All -

I'd like to pose 2 questions to European members of this list - the
information would be very helpful in better understanding the way moneys
flow from one society to another around the world.

1. As has been discussed here, SACEM has  a 66/33 split in favor of writers
and GEMA and other countries has a 60/40 split in favor of writers.
Assuming you're in a country other than France (SACEM), when you get money
from France, are you getting the 66% share or whatever share your local PRO
defaults to?

2. When you receive royalties from countries other than your home PRO, is
the actual amount paid to your home PRO listed on your statement, or only
the amount after your home PRO has deducted whatever fees and charges it
decides to deduct.

Clearly we as writers on a global scale have a lot to learn about this area,
and I believe the FMPRO list can be very helpful in this regard as an
information-sharing forum.
