[Fmpro] need help for client - DP 5.1.2 and East West/NI

I need some help from the DP crowd. I'm a Logic user myself, and I've
hit some dead-ends in researching this issue.

One of my New Age composer/songwriter friends recently upgraded to a
new Mac and DP 5.1.2. Getting back to work, she discovered that her
East West Symphonic Orchestra (silver edition) and trance samples via
Intakt no longer play nicely with the software. I'm assuming that
this is an issue brought up because of the change to an Intel
machine, and software that works more smoothly on such. That said,
the EW and trance samples still work fine when their players are
opened independently of DP.

She called MOTU; they told her to call the company that sold her the
plug-ins. She called NI, and they told her that there would be no
software patch forthcoming to get their products to work with the
newest version of DP, and that the only way to fix the situation is
for her to purchase Kontakt 2 for an additional $250ish.

Is this really the case? There's no cheap/free workaround--but she
just needs to buy the software and then she'll be able to access her
samples again? I wanted to double-check this situation before she
shells out the cash.

Thanks!
Susan
