Hi Doug,
No.. not putting you in a corner ;-)
Given PRS has now instituted changes in the manner money is distributed;
12 midnight to 6.00 p.m. [18 hours] is to be called Non Prime Time NPT
6.00pm to 12 midnight [6 hours] is to be called Prime Time [PT].
This means, as I understand it, a 'credit', which PRS seems to call
an FPV, Fixed Point Value, will be valued [paid] for 18 hours, 75% of
the day at 50%, and the FPV for 25% of the day will be valued [paid]
at 200%.**
How is ASCAP going to make this change clear to its members who have
music on air in the UK?
How is ASCAP going to show on a statement if the income is from
the NPT part of the day or the PT part of the day and more to the
point, how the amount was calculated?
Might I also ask BMI/SESAC/GEMA/SACEM/SGAE et al reps who read this
list how they will make the same data known to their members?
Best
Les
** you might wonder why this only applies to TV !!
