Hi Scott,
It makes a HUGE difference whether it is Bravo or Food (a Scripps network.)
With Scripps, it will be a TOTAL buyout and they will own the music plus
there will be no PRO income.
The "THEME" music really should be a separate negotiation and pay from $3k
to $15k.
As far as the internal music for the show, I know of music companies doing a
30min cable show for as little as $2,500, on BUYOUT (but writer keeps
"writer share.") But that is ridiculous.
I would suggest a starting rate of $10k, no buyout, for internal music per
episode. Be willing to negotiate down to maybe $5k. Be ready to walk away
if not happy with the deal.
