Guess that's why I never got a dime for the station ID package I
composed a number of years back, huh? I've discussed this one on the
list before though. I was young, had just joined ASCAP, and was looking
at how ASCAP was supposed to pay me, and figured to myself "Hey, I can
"donate" music FOR FREE to certain clients, and I'll be getting rich
from ASCAP!".

So, 140,160 plays later - not a dime (8 NPR Stations * 16 airs per day *
3 years). Took me almost a full year for somebody at ASCAP to finally
say "We don't survey those stations". I screamed and cussed and raised
hell and finally got an ASCAP "special award" for something like $25.00.

Argh!
