Every other ASCAP member that got paid for those time periods.

It's one of the largest, legally sanctioned, for-profit, free usages of
music in the world (well, perhaps not for profit in the case of PBS, but
outrageously for-profit in the case of the other broadcasters who get to use
music and the writer/publisher are not paid by ASCAP for the performances).

The old Napster is a drop in the bucket dollar-wise compared to the
thousands of teleision and radio music performances the PROs refuse to pay
writers for EVERY DAYl. While the license may be different, the result is
exactly the same: the writers and publishers of the music are not paid for
those music performances.

But hey, who cares, right? Let's just TRUST that our friends at the PROs are
treating us as fairly as we deserve to be treated. Why make waves? Most
composers don't seem to care anyway. Pass the Kool-Aid, Doug :-)
