One thing to consider Peter re Library music.

Like it or not, there has always been 'Library' of one kind or another.
The benefit of Library over commissioned 'score' is the simple fact  
'commissioned work, more often than not, only has one life.
Library music can wear any hat the end user wants it to, has a shelf  
life of 'forever', can be sold hundreds of times per day all around  
the world.......... >>IF<< the system works correctly [;-)] it is a  
good 'business' for composers.
