OK I have confirmed that THAT conductor would be Sir Georg Solti. I talked
with an old buddy from Berklee and he thinks its Toscanini that is the one
that stabbed someone else in the eye, but neither can remember the exact
details and I cant find anything about it on the internet. Lol one of these
days I will figure the story out, until then lets create a new great urban
legend hah

i've heard of a conductor who, during a particularly dramatic passage of
music, stabbed himself in the eye. but he didn't die.
