[Fmpro] the future?

I had to come back on comment on this.

So basically...they were able generate enough buzz and move enough downloads
to chart, and now have the ability to make the most of this opportunity
(while they still have everyone's attention), an they give a concert...for
FREE.

What was the point of all of the download sales???

Why not either themselves (or with an agent), try to line up some licensing?
If the song is so catchy that it was able to compete in the marketplace with
artists that have far bigger marketing budgets, surely a product could grab
hold of it and make the most of this opportunity too, right?

I'm sure they're trying to do some 'fan base building'--though one could
argue that building a network of people that will be expecting product for
free from the get-go isn't the best plan.

Just my .02, because I couldn't let it go.
