Some years ago long before I had to have 'dish'.........  I believe  
it was made clear on this list SCRIPPs do NOT pay US PRO's any  
blanket license fee's, claiming they only use their own music.

Mr Merritt was able to explain much of the process.

I now have Dish......... and don't quite understand how the American  
public got conned into paying for 'service' and yet still have to  
watch commercials..... wow, brainwashing at its best........ but I  
digress............

Today my wife made me watch HGTV.............  WHAT..... commercials,  
with music !!!!!!!!!!!

Does the copyright law not apply to SCRIPPS or are they paying PRO's  
for the commercial music?
