  Les, if a reputable producer/director team were to reject my score on 
the open market, they better not even DREAM of retaining the rights.  
Even in a Scripps-like music mill, that would crossing the line.  Due to 
owner/composer legality conflicts, it's certainly best not to associate 
with them in the first place.

  Granted the words "reputable" and "Scripps" probably don't belong in 
the same paragraph.  I have never dealt with them, and, thanks to the 
recent comments on this list, I never will.
