[Fmpro] 666 Euro Downloads Pay Song/Score equally, why not ASCAP?

Yea they are voted on, but you are saying "somethings wrong fix it" and I am
asking for a plan on how you get that many voting members to organize and
fix it. First step is to acknowledge the problem, we know there is one now
:) so next step is what do we do? "everyone vote" doesn't work (as we
already see) so how to make change?

ASCAP?
Hi Chris,
As far as I know PRO's like ASCAP/PRS/SESAC/GEMA/SGAE etc are
democratic and the boards are elected by the members....... it would
require effort, but the number of board members who understood the
need of those who wrote the majority of music on air, could be
elected they would be able to apply pressure for change.
I've never put this in print before, but here it is.
The last time I spoke with the CEO of ASCAP [at a meeting organized
by John Cacavas] he told me he wanted, among other things 1-1.**
So, one must assume, if the board is changed, he would be allowed to
do what he knows is the right thing to do.
But who does he have to bow down to in order to remain employed?
Getting it done.
As you say, you sit on the fence......... get off it.
L
** Let's see if he denies it or calls me a liar.
