I met a music manager at my pal's birthday party a few years back, got a
friendly conversation going, so when I got around to getting my new tunes
polished I emailed her earlier in the year and asked if I could send her a
CD. She invited me to send it. I never heard back, but quickly began
receiving general emails about the various projects her company was trying
to place music for. Among the submission guidelines is this little bit...

---------------
Note: I take 50% of any placement fee (master & sync) as well as exclusive
publishing (ONLY if the song is placed) so you are agreeing to this if you
submit music. READ THIS!!!!!!!! With the information above and your mp3,
YOU MUST include a note in the email stating "I certify that the above
information is 100% accurate and agree to pay True Talent Management 50% of
the master/sync fee if this song is licensed as well as exclusive publishing
for any song that gets licensed". Without this WE WILL NOT LISTEN TO OR
PITCH YOUR SONG. Alternatively, we'd also consider taking 75% of the
master/sync fee, you keep ALL publishing, the choice is up to you.
--------------------

Just wondering what your thoughts were on this. I recall the a FMN music
supervisor lecture saying that giving up your publishing was a baaaaad
thing. ;)
