It isn't relevant to this topic tho. On my sequences I write and perform
every note, I take care and love every single sound that comes from my
music. Its inherent with being an artist, at least every thing I have ever
learned about art and making a creative property. What instruments I choose
to use in my music is a whole other story then if I use something someone
else wrote within my music and then call it mine.
Take this as if we are painters. Now one guy starts selling compilations of
famous art works, or their prints, and sells it that reuse is not illegal.
Now I buy those and with a big piece of paper and some elmers glue I paste
on the mona lisa, the cistine chapel, the last supper and then I draw
something on top of the pasted prints. And then I say look at this painting
I drew! Sorry Charlie but whether or not its legal its schlepping someone
elses work and plagiarizing it, even if its creative it will never be in the
gugenheim or the louvre or any museum or art gallery of even minimal
caliber...
Im not saying you are uncouth Les or are unable to play, or haven't paid
dues or any other such thing, cuz I know some of your history and im sure
your music is awesome. But I am hurt to know people that I share with and
respect don't respect their art enough to care about this issue of using pre
fabricated loops as it just is no longer their art but their art combined
with someone elses art. It cheapens my art by association :P
Dang man I was almost over this too lol

Well now, as a classically trained trumpet player who made a living
as an electric bass player............. how many of you out there...
and you Chris.... batted an eye when you used tech and the olde Moog
to replace me?
