The error is in assuming that there IS valid data to begin with. If the data is not widely disclosed among the constituents of a PRO, then the data doesn't exist. PROs can maintain "truths" or "facts" in public statements, but until those truths and facts are backed up by a totally transparent public disclosure, the facts and truths are unsubstantiated.
The "data" presented by PRS and ASCAP could be blatant lies, and just so much "Blah Blah Blah", for all we know.
Color me "Incensed", this time. That's two colors to the left of "Merely Pissed-Off" in my crayon box.
