Hey guys and gals, Sorry for disrupting the flow of PRO discussions, but I
trust you guys to give good answers more then anyplace else. I am just
wondering, what sample software you are using?
I currently use GigaStudio 3 Orchestra over 2 dedicated PCs, Vienna
Symphonic Library full pro edition and lots of nice samples, and a 3rd pc
running cubase and a mac running digital performer, all communicating with
MIDIOverLAN. I have motu 2408 on the cubase machine, a digi001 on the mac,
and hammerfall HDSP 9652 cards on the giga machines to allow lots of adat
channels as well as several motu MTP A/Vs for my external midi gear.
Now my problem is that gigastudio, while an amazing program in itself, is
half baked in terms of stability, it only supports max 2 gigs of ram, and
tascam support seems filled with very unhelpful and cocky people that don't
listen to the problem, at least the 3 times I have tried to contact them for
support in the past it was like that. Ever since Pete Snell left tascam and
gone to work for Hans it seems that giga is falling apart at the seams.
I have been getting lots of crashes and so I upgraded one of those giga pc's
and now its just crashing when I load larger .gsp files and im getting tired
of dealing with all these problems. I need something as powerful as giga
with good support and less bugs, that will also be able to use or convert my
current collection of giga samples. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Chris
