Why does one have to be a lawyer??
Either we are going to be paid or we are not.
The fight which is going on around the globe is NOT about our rights,
it is how certain folks will either keep or 'allot' the money.
PLEASE, just consider the following;
A download in the USA at this moment in time does NOT contain a
performing right.
A download in the UK does.
Why should there be a difference?
Don't use PRO rules as a ref here.
Regardless, what composers need to know is;
Why should a UK composer be denied any income in the USA for a download?
[Think on a global scale before you answer]
Why should a US composer who is denied income in the USA be paid in
the UK?
[One can argue PRO rules etc, but this is not the case......... this
is about suits who do not want to pay creators at all]
Presume a US composer does receive money from the UK...............
where is the hybrid [PRO/PUB] cross check .... without a known gross
amount.
I urge you, do not leave your future to those who do not have your
best interest at heart.
Good luck Lynne....... please, surprise us all.
