As an example, I did this track with Kick Ass Brass:

As you can tell, it shines more for backing horns than leads, but I also
might have gotten a more realistic lead sax via with a bit more legato
playing. At any rate, KAB does have a tone quality that's very poppy,  
i.e.
ultra-close mic'ing, etc.
