You are right, not too many composers yet. They seem to forget that a
significant portion of film directors who gives them work are writers as
well and are at this very moment completely behind the strike. And if
anybody else, along with producers, they are the ones that should be
feeling our pain. Even if nobody does, I'd still be promoting and trying
to support them in anyway I can.
As far as the tracking issues you brought up, I thinnk they are definitely
something to be looked up as well and also part of the big joke we are
made part of. I believe composers were made to think that digital
downloads are not traceable to any degree of accuracy. That makes
me wonder if Apple is willing to lose as little as a penny on all download
sales they make. Or if any of the songwriters covered and so eternally
pampered by ASCAP and BMI do not get what's theirs and on time.
The technology has been already there for quite sometime.
Just that ASCAP as well as BMI each in their own way are giving all score
composers a lot of pure high grade bullshit and someone along this line is
buying a brand new 50 ft boat. Anything could be happening so the very
possible could seem impossible. . Now how can you fight something like that
?
That's when we all go back to the "United We Stand, Divided We Fall"
subject...
