[Fmpro] ASCAP Check

Just got my ASCAP statement. It does not show any of the money from the 4
cue sheets I have sent them over 9 months ago. 2 feature films, both
screened abroad in theaters and a short that made it into over 12
international festivals as well as music from a domumentary's international
edition music airing on several channels abroad. You all want to know the
greatest ? Back then, I called in ASCAP, spoke to someone and was personally
guaranteed this was going to be properly tracked and paid. All the data,
including cue sheets and even a copy of the program with airing dates was
sent to them certified mail (signature required) Now, I called them again
yesterday, and not only the person I spoke to no longer works there but they
have no track, trace or recollection on any of the material I have sent.
Meaning, after all the effort and faith that something might work on all of
this, I have squat. Nothing. Zip. Back to square one.
The total on my check, an amazing $1.03 (Listed under "other" with no
further description).
I guess after I cash that and buy my new mansion in Beverly Hills, I can
call them back and do as most people suggest, that being, provide them again
with "evidence" that I should be paid for records lost by some poor
miserable soul who so did not care about his/her job. Maybe in another 12
months I might see some of it.
Now, if that doesn't suck, can someone please tell me what does ? I just
want to go there and cope the feel.
There seems to be a whole level of blindness to anything that isn't
"numbers" or "volume", which should officially classify ASCAP's procedures
as poor tracking, or innacurate tracking, or just plain disregard for anyone
working on climbing the baby steps for composer royalties.
