[Fmpro] ASCAP, Cue Sheets and Other Hell

I guess we can only hope that if Doug (or anyone at ASCAP) will apologize
for losing cue sheets, we might one day get an apology for other egregious
ASCAP actions...

- 1,250 signatures, virtually destroying the independent candidates
- a decades and no digital watermarking
- horrible tracking for CPA music, not to mention horrible payment rates
- the non-deployment of MediaGuide on TV to track and pay royalties
- weighting formulas which rob composers of millions every year while lining
the pockets of songwriters with that money
- the hearing board virtually shut down thanks to new language created by
the ASCAP Board severely limiting their actions
- utter lack of transparency and accountability for ASCAP board members

While lost cue sheets are important and I'm glad Doug hasn't adopted the
arrogant stand we've seen from so many others at ASCAP, there are many more
offenses at ASCAP that deserve his concern.

Best,

Mark Northam
