"Not one person on this list has any idea how the US PRO's compete,
wow......... then what made you sign up with yours?"
Les,
Being only a member of ASCAP, and only since '94, and only
because the band signed me up, I can't answer that question. ... but
I suspect the answer lies in the fact that a triumvirate of US PROs
control %99.999 of the moneys owed to millions of composers, artists,
and producers in the US. The 3 major US PROs don't really need to
compete, they are the only (collective) game in town! Join us, AND/
or get nothing at all!
Having been a journeyman printer, also, I can tell you that
ASCAP has the finest quality brochures and newsletters in the biz.
Sooo, just another place where the money goes, besides to you and me...
Only recently have I considered the pros and cons of firing
ASCAP, and joining BMI. That has not happened yet, as the pros of
are hardly worth the paperwork.
If you have a clue as to how the US PROs compete -- if indeed
they compete at all -- please clue me.
