They do seem to have a good business model. But even thought i
realise libraries are here to stay, the bigger and greater these
libraries become, the less we see work for things like sports
networks etc...I used to make very good money writing all the music
for the weather channel here in Canada. Now it's all libraries. I
guess now instead of having 1000 guys making a living from Weather
Channel type of work, you have 100 000 guys receiving an 8 $ check in
the mail every 6 months.

Sure if your PA cue gets placed on prime time you'll break the bank,
but that's called the lottery isn't it?

My point is, last night i was reading up on the PA site and you see
testimonials of people who say "thanks to PA i put a downpayment on
my home from the money i made with a single cue" doesn't say if it's
a trailer park home but...

Reminds of people selling cheap muscle building machines for 100
easy installments of not 99$, not 69$ but 68,99$!!!! Jokes aside, i
was tempted and this morning while chewing my Weetabix, -can't find
Count Choculas anymore ; ( - I thought "yeah but if i give them some
cues i'm just augmenting their libraries whith my work & Style.

At the same time, Kerry's point that we all have music that has not
been used in some films, because the whole scene you wrote it for got
canned, so it's probably better for us to put it in the PA bank and
have a chance of collecting on it...

Any thoughts?

This subject has probably been beaten to death, sorry if it has.

Best,

Claude
