Hi Scott,
Everyone seems to be held up on what the license is that PA
'owns'......... surely one of the big things PA sold is their half
of the publishing?
E.G.
If PA owned/owns 1/2 of the publishing on a cue in Everybody Loves
Raymond, or even better a Star Trek cue.......
1 they would own the 'right' to collect 1/2 of the publishing for Life
+70
2 this would mean all future broadcasts/downloads/CD's/DVD's etc
around the planet in perpetuity
3 all future sync fee's via language overdubs etc **
4 all broadcast mechanicals
This is where the ready money is for Getty.
L
** just because a composer may pull the title from PA after 2 years
doesn't mean the ongoing sync rights cease.
This is the cash cow.
