Attitude comes to mind
From the UK
Regarding your service request Q-2787 concerning Scripps programmes.
We are continuing to investigate this request and have made the
following progress
I have checked the channels listed on the Scripps website and none of
these channels are shown in the UK.
With regard to cash values for our affiliated societies on our
website, ASCAP and SESAC will not disclose this information to non-
members of their society. The data on BMI came from a report made by
our international department on BMI. As you have noted, the BMI cash
value figures for such channels as ABC and CBS are to give a general
guide to our members how much they would receive for a performance of
their work on a US network station. The criteria that BMI use for
their distribution of TV royalties (e.g. theme music, background
music, etc) applies to their members and the members of any other
affiliated society.
Must one conclude the overseas societies have no idea what they are
being paid?
Might one conclude this is the same for US composers........ 'you'
have no idea what $$ values you are being paid for overseas usage of
your product.
Hence the need for gross amount at source columns on all statements.
