Bear in mind what I consider to be a fact.

Aside from Doug, it would appear ASCAP writer board members are paid
whatever mechanical income is due to them by the Publisher members
they might sit opposite and more than likely would have to fight.

If a board member writer is receiving a chunk of 'mechanical' change
from an ASCAP Publisher member, will they want to lose that income?
It would appear most roll over re the Overseas Broadcast Mechanical
income... and if they don't roll over and they do receive it........
ooops, why not everyone, and why wont ASCAP provide broadcast
mechanical data via gross amount of income at source data on the
statements?

Take it all one step further......... a large step [;-)]

The performing right for broadcasting goes away since all
broadcasting will be on demand and the broadcasters call it a download.
The only right remaining is the mechanical right.
The writer Board members have maintained their mechanical rights,
BUT, since writers are not allowed to join Harry Fox, any due income
has to come via the Publisher....... this will be all and any income.

Would one be wise to fight or upset a publisher who just might be the
only source of income in decades to come?

Just how will 'estates' be paid for downloads?
