I might add that we are now becoming more and more a Global entity, a Global
economy. Borders don't have quite the impact they did in the fifties and
sixties. Look at where Europe is. One currency, no passports between EU
countries. Stifling competition based on nationalism and borders
is....well....kind of a dying trend. A previous poster rightly pointed out
the Asian manufacture of a huge amount of "American" products. I'm a big
fan of John Williams scores. I believe many of them are performed by the
London Symphony. Not a financial consideration to be sure, but definitely
competition from abroad.
