1. Composers are always going be in trouble when there is someone  
else that will do it for less ....... that's part of the reason why  
the situation is what it is. A union isn't going to change that. You  
will always be undercut and frankly I'm sure many on this list have  
undercut someone else.

2. The issues with PRO's aren't going to be solved by having non-song  
composers band together into a union-esque  organization. You will  
only change the PRO's by getting a government agency that would have  
oversight and jurisdiction to be on your side, find a way to make  
change through the legal system or change the make-up of the  
leadership of the PRO's. FOr my money those are your only rays of  
hope and they are long shots at best.
