Anyone see the news today where it would appear AOL is to
''''deliver"''' free of charge ABC broadcasts 24 hours later.
ABC/AOL to share the revenue [one presumes from advertising] a
statement on CH 5 LA today.
How will composers for the music in the programmes delivered via AOL
be paid [especially Library music? http://www.allheadlinenews.com/
articles/7008580551 the only data I can find today.
It would appear the delievry is to be a 'stream'.......... so, how
are we all to be paid?
Can someone help me here please.
I had been led to believe a stream was a broadcast which was also
'delivered' at the exact same time as the broadcast but in the
digital medium?
If not, what is a stream?
E.G. my local radio station makes it clear I can go to their website
and obtain the current broadcast as a 'stream'.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streaming_media seems to
contradict my information.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streaming realtime might the
kicker word in here !

More to the point, given there is now a huge potential for
audience... might this be global?....... shuold the sync fee's for
music be adjusted up to compensate, especially if the PRO's do not pay?
