I think you will find PRO's only pay [retro] for 9 months.
I've just had 2 national jingles for a water company..... not a dime.
Some folk at ASCAP think it ok if jingles aren't paid since 'all of
the money is distributed' and it would appear if a jingle isn't paid
[even though the broadcasters pre paid for EVERY piece aired] the
money will go to e.g. a piece of underscore and perhaps vice versa.
So one and all...... just remember..... when YOU are paid, you most
certainly DO HAVE someone else's money........ how do you feel about
that, what should be done about it?
Bear in mind, a SONG when used as a jingle is paid 4 X's as much !!!
Perhaps you'd all like to remember your board members endorse the
fact you are not being paid, come the next election.
In the EU broadcasters have to provide PRO's with data for all
airings more than 5 secs.
Why do you think this is not the case in the
USA???????????????????? ;-)
How many more of you folks out there who have not been paid......
