This argument can of course be carried even further - if you do not make
your own instruments, you are relying on the creative work of others and so
on.  If you do not perform all of your own music....

It may be important to differentiate this however:  

Louis, are you talking about the upfront pay or the backend royalty?  Should
a 30 second, full, real orchestral piece cost the producer the same as a 30
second drum loop piece?

I contend, if so, then any composer who does not notate, arrange,  
copy and conduct his [or her] own music is also not 'worthy'.
